... you are not likely to do the things you have planned. you sure are in the mercy of its unpredictability - you sure know what i'm talking about, right?
to have a 4-day-midsummer-holiday is one thing, and how you get to spend it is another thing. for the last two days, mother nature doesn't seem to be in a good mood to let us celebrate midsummer in its truest form and norms. all one can do is really pray hard for that little glimpse of sun and its rays to come their way. right now, the pitter-patter of rain is like a xylophone playing its music on the roof of the house and the porch's floorboards - it doesn't look like it's ever going to let up. stucked indoors in this awful weather, i can only imagine how my boys are faring in the alicante summer house enjoying the sun, the surf and the seas - geez, i'm so very envious at the thought! sometimes i wonder if i made the right decision - and that is i stayed behind in favour of work and endure this rainy days.
however, being at home gave me the opportunity to do things i have postponed for a good many weeks, or months - or better yet, years! the clutter in our work desk at home is quite a pile. i managed to sort of some paperworks, filed receipts and other documents in the right folders, stacked copies of pictures which also need filing in the right photoalbums and even installed some electronic gadgets well into its right place. i also got this habit of "cleaning up" non-stop: emptying the laundry basket (the poor washer went its business 4x a day), tidying up almost every room in the house time and again (bedrooms, play room, living room, laundry room, bathrooms and toilets, the loft), gardening (weeding, pruning, cutting wedge and bushes) and even a bit of tinkering on my scooter (oiling, polishing it to shine, checking brake fluids and gas level). yes, i've been busy - but this ain't exactly how i wanted to spend my midsummer holidays.
mother nature, please, send a little bit of sunshine my way so that i can go out for a long ride on my bike to the seaside ... so that i could sunbathe on top of the stone cliffs like other swedes ... so that i could dive into the glorious warm sea water ... so that i could enjoy the company of friends for a picnic at the park ... so that we could play frisbee on the well manicured gardens of the park ... so that i could rest under the shade of those big oak trees by the park alleys and enjoy reading my book ... is this too much to ask? i sure hope not ...
mother nature, there's two more days to go ... promise not to throw your "tantrums" ? i look forward to how the last two days of my midsummer is going to be spent ... what do you think?
