Yes, I'm a fan of Michael Jackson. I grew up with his unforgettable songs since his Jackson 5-days. All throughout his career, he never failed to reinvent himself. One cannot question his love for music ... his passion is reflected in each of his songs.
Despite of all criticisms and his publicized eccentricies, he's undeniably a musical genius.
Rest in peace, King of Pop!

Sports' Day today!
Yes. Yet another activity at Alexander's school today - Sports' Day at ESG. And again, there are things to get organised. Armed with his checklist, I started my day preparing his tote bag with packed lunch, fruit, juice, a water bottle, gym clothes, shoes, towel and some rain clothes (in case it rains today). Alexander's excited. His team, the St George House, has yet to win the House trophy ... he was hell bent to give it his all this time. He's all too eager to get going.
More on this later.

Check this out!
With some precious time free, I've been browsing, nay, gawking on some videos which caught my fancy ... such as this one.
I didn't realise this is the latest dance craze of late ....
Did you enjoy that? That's Joe Jonas' version.
I'm sure you recognise the song ... see the original dance below.

Girls' Afterwork
I was invited to a girls' afterwork at a friend's house yesterday ... to shop, wine and dine! It's one of those get-together where the gals gossip and talk about the weather, work, shoes, bags, clothes and bling-blings over a glass of wine (or more) and a lovely buffet of fruits, appetizers, sea of green salad, seafood and choice meats. I mentioned "to shop" 'coz she invited friends of hers who own specialty shops selling high end clothes, bags and shoes - even some artists friends who designs a variety of blings as earrings, necklace, rings, bangles and all. Get-together as this is rare and really interesting. Also, everyone gets 40% off the rack price!
If at all, I enjoy the bonding time: meeting old friends and new faces, share each other personal experiences and renewing old acquaintances. I look forward to the next girls' afterwork meet ... it's a different experience altogether.
Pssst ...
I have another invitation for tomorrow, 5 June: A welcome party to a newborn baby (now 2 months old). I'll fill you in on my next post.

'Twas beat ... without knowing it!
The first week of June, at least for my part, started a bit dramatic.
1 June, Midnight
I was back to see the doctors as I had an attack of abnormal abdominal pain in the middle of the night. I couldn't sleep, I felt suffocated and couldn't breathe as I lay down 'coz my stomach and bladder felt bloated and heavy - for me, that was scary. I was hardly sick back in the Philippines but in the "sterilised" environment of Europe, I would say have experience a great deal of illnesses so alien to me like developing pollen allergy, influenza and all that. Tests were made. I rejected the prescription of penicillin (I hate it when it's always the first option as medication). I was told I'd get a call when the results are ready.
2 June, Morning after
I was sleepy and couldn't bring myself to be alert nor have the drive to go to work. I called the office and told everyone I'd come to work after lunch instead - I needed to sleep off the pain. When I got to work that afternoon, my colleagues swarmed like flies in my room asking me what has happened. They missed me! And perhaps care that much and wanted to make sure I'm OK. After work, my abdominal pain persisted. I stopped by the pharmacy and asked for advise from the resident nurse for a second opinion. After describing my pain, she asked me one simple question: "Have you been very busy the past weeks at work and at home?" It turned out that I have been stressed without me knowing it. The pain I described has crept slowly in and has disturbed my body system's balance - I've been suffering bacterial imbalance! The kind nurse gave me a list of dairy products to buy and was told to start having sourmilk everyday. That same night, I slept like a baby. I awoke the following day without any pain. It was great relief!
Todate, I'm still waiting for that call to tell me the result of my tests. But I'm not worried now, I've sort of "self-medicated" myself already - thanks to the kind nurse at the pharmacy.
Would you believe that? I was beat - without me knowing it!
LESSON LEARNED:
Slow down ... breathe ... take stock of things to do all in good stride.
