ok, before your imagination gets ahead, i'd better explain what i meant.
you see, i'm trying to lose some unwanted kilos and have decided upon the recommendation of a friend to try a fruit diet for a week and drink lots of water. so, i went on a fresh fruit binge - stuffing strawberries, kiwi, oranges, bananas, grapes, watermelon, pineapple and peaches (no, i can't have apples or pears - i developed some kind of allergy from eating them ... my face get bloated even at a teenie weenie bite). i also tried its dried fruit variant of prunes and peaches. and i guess it is somehow working ... the diet has some "cleansing" effect. in combination with exercise and 4 kilometer walks, yes, i feel good. or, it could also be my imagination at work ... dunno.
going on this fruit diet reminds me of those days i spent back at my parent's place by the white beaches of Port Barton. i remember quite well how my dad planted pineapples around the house, there's the mango tree and the cashew tree right below the terrace. i have fond memories of picking a pineapple every morning for breakfast - i'd peel it myself and eat the whole pineapple on my own (there's plenty of them out in the garden for my siblings, too). during summer holidays, my dad would have them ready by the time i get up. i remember how i'd climb for fresh cashew fruits or green mangoes when i get a craving to stuff myself with such delicious fruits. i'd say, those are the real "tutti-frutti" days of my life. looking back, i wish i could have that same experience again ... but it's purely wishful thinking. i don't think the orchard is still there - sad, huh?
one funny incident of climbing trees i remember too well was when one of my younger brothers at one time decided to bring down a couple of fresh coconut. like a "monkey" he climbed up the tall coconut tree, he did brought down a bunch of fresh coconut and himself with a big thud. and before we know it, he was running towards the beach, swam out into the deep and dove underwater for the longest time. the reason: he accidentally disturbed a beehive nestling with the fresh coconuts! we couldn't help but laugh from the beach. my brother, a seasoned swimmer as he was, managed to surface on the side of the beach - the group of bees could then be seen hovering to the spot where he dove underwater.
oh well, i'd stick to my fresh and dried fruits ... as for how long would i go on with my "tutti-frutti"-days, i'm not sure. i must admit that this early, i crave for something juicy, meaty and tasty! but i need to be patient ... god help me!
