A visit to our garden ...

... was made very recently.

Coming home for a weekend break from my driving course, the first thing I noticed from our garden is the hollow patch in our flowerbed. It looked like someone or something have camped in the middle of the patch and made a perfect circle in it. I saw three patches ... the smallest of which was beside the flowerbed.

When I asked my husband if he had absentmindedly put a basin in all of the three patches, he was of course a bit upset ... why would I do such a thing, he said increduously. He went out of the porch and inspected the area. And then he walked back in. "Well, what could that be?", I asked. And he replied matter-of-factly, "It's probably a deer family ... they came for a nap and then left." Just like that. Bummer! I didn't get to say hello to Mommy deer.

Yes, it is likely to be deers. I can tell you this, elks would raid gardens with apple trees just to get free apples ... and get drunk having one too many that they can't find their way home back to the forests. I can assure you, it happens.
